Design

Using 3D modelling and 2D/3D CAM facilities, the design department at DP engine parts employs the very latest technology and state-of-the art equipment and is able to keep up with the demand for the ever increasing complexity of any engine component. These design requirements are essential to meet the demands of today's cutting edge performance engines, whilst keeping prototype and development lead times down to a minimum. DP knowledge and experience in this area has enabled the company to meet the demands of top class motorsport.

Precision

Exacting standards and inspection systems mean that DP produce engine parts of the highest possible quality, combined with full traceability of all manufactured components. Where necessary DP experienced workshop can repeat tolerances of +/- .005mm. With quality and precision being the key to the success and performance of the engine components nothing is taken for granted during the manufacturing process. The inspection procedures ensure that all components comply with the high standards that DP constantly demands.

Equipment

Our machining plant currently houses three 4-axis CNC machining centers, five 3axis machining centers, four 2-axis CNC turning lathes, one CNC piston profile turning center, and numerous manual and automatic conventional machines such as crankshafts grinders and balancers, honing machines, valve grinders, center less grinders, cylinder boring machine, cylinder honing machine, cylindrical grinder, milling and drilling machines, lathes and multiple thread rolling machines. All of our machines are maintained to the highest order and are capable of machining to very close tolerances using the latest developments available in cutting tool technology. State of the art 3D CAM (Computer Aided Machining) software allowing us to machine small batch prototypes from solid billets or special forging blanks. The advantage of this is that the customer can try various configurations before we make any higher volume production parts. This means that when the final design has been ready we will be constantly delivering the best product available with the closest tolerance and the minimum weight possible.
